What to do if you find the well has narrowed

There are a number of common causes of water well narrowing:

-Collapse: A drop in the water table or an unstable geological structure causes the wall of the well to collapse.
-Sediment buildup: With long-term use, sediments such as mud and sand can accumulate at the bottom and walls of the well, causing the diameter of the well to become smaller.
-Clogged Pipes: Pipes or screens in the well are clogged, affecting the flow of water and reducing the amount of water coming out of the well.

Why is it more difficult to widen a well directly?

-Well Wall Material: If the wall is made of concrete or brick, it is more difficult to widen the well and is prone to secondary collapse.
-Geological conditions: The geological conditions are complex and the widening process may encounter unstable strata, increasing the construction risk.
-Water source protection: blind widening may damage the water source and affect the water quality.

Alternatives to widening the well

Cleaning and dredging:
Purpose: Remove sediments from the bottom and walls of the well and restore the original diameter of the well.
Methods: Cleaning using high-pressure water jetting, mechanical desilting, etc.
Results: More difficult, less expensive, less effective, short duration of widening, multiple dredging required

Replace or repair the pipeline:
Purpose: Unclogging or replacing clogged pipes and screens to restore normal water supply.
Results: Less difficult, less expensive, less effective, requires uninterrupted replacement.

Drill a new well:
Purpose: Consider drilling a new well if the old one cannot be repaired or if there is a severe shortage of water.
Results: Higher cost, better results, better water quality, more water output, no need for regular maintenance, better results.

What are the disadvantages of PDC bit

Even  PDC bits  offer lots of advantages, they also have some disadvantages that should be considered in certain drilling applications. Some of the disadvantages of PDC bits include: a) Higher initial cost: PDC bits generally have a higher initial cost compared to traditional roller cone bits. The advanced manufacturing processes and the use of synthetic diamond materials contribute to their higher price. However, considering their longer bit life and improved drilling efficiency, PDC bits can offer a better return on investment in many cases. b) Susceptibility to impact and vibration: PDC bits can be more susceptible to damage from impact and vibration during drilling operations. The fixed nature of the PDC cutters makes them less resilient to sudden shocks or excessive lateral forces. This can lead to premature cutter wear or breakage, reducing the overall bit life and drilling performance. c) Limited performance in highly abrasive formations: While PDC bits excel in ...

How to get the lowest price of PDC drill bits from supplier

If you wanna get the lowest price for   PDC Drill Bit s from a supplier, the following strategies you should employ : 1. Research Multiple Suppliers: Identify and research multiple suppliers or manufacturers of PDC drill bits. Look for reputable companies with a track record of delivering high-quality products. Having multiple options allows you to compare prices and negotiate effectively. 2. Request Quotes: Reach out to the suppliers and request quotes for the PDC drill bits you require. Provide them with the specific details of your drilling project, such as the quantity of drill bits needed, desired specifications, and any customization requirements. Ensure that the quotes provided are comprehensive and include all relevant costs. 3. Compare Prices and Terms: Compare the quotes received from different suppliers. Pay attention not only to the price but also to the terms and conditions offered, such as warranty, delivery time, payment terms, and after-sales support. A lower price ...

What are the key points in selecting the right used water well drilling rigs

Key Points in Selecting the Right Used Water Well Drilling Rig Define the requirements Determine the specifications and performance of the required drilling rig based on the drilling depth, hole diameter, and geological conditions (e.g., rocky or loose strata). Check the condition of the equipment Appearance: Check for obvious signs of damage, rust or repair. Core components: Focus on the wear and tear of the engine, drill pipe, drill bit, hydraulic system, air compressor and mud pump. Running test: Try the machine to see whether it runs smoothly and whether there is any abnormal noise or vibration. Check the utilization record Working hours: to understand the cumulative running hours of the drilling rig and determine the aging degree of the equipment. Maintenance records: Check whether the rig is maintained on time, whether there is any overhaul or replacement of key parts. Confirm brand and parts supply Prioritize well-known brands to ensure the convenience of subsequent parts ...
